A Mothers Prayer

Dear Lord, hear my prayer, for my heart is aching tonight-
My teenage girl has left us, and she's walking toward your light.
I know her heart is frightened, Lord, So please, hold her hand-
Send an angel to guide her through, And help her understand.
She likes a little music on, Lord, when she lays down to sleep-
And maybe a little teddy bear, Lord, that she can love and keep.
May your light from Heaven, Lord, encircle her in love-
And wrap her up in peace and joy, that comes from up above.
Oh, how I'm going to miss her, Lord, This little girl so sweet-
She talked often, of her Jesus, and how they would one day meet.
It came too soon for me, dear Lord, It's so hard to let her go-
I am so lost without her, Lord, but she's with you I know!
Take care of your newest angel, Lord, I place her in your care-
Her little life was short, dear Lord, but I know she's happy there!
My tears are flowing--my heart aches-- Please. Oh Lord, help me
To understand why she had to go, Oh Lord, just let me see!
Comfort us here on earth, dear Lord, we carry on day by day-
For Lord , we will miss her, much more than words can say!
I thank you for the sixteen years Lord, that you gave her to me-
The happy times we had with her-- such a precious memory!
In violence, Lord, she left this world,
But she will not suffer anymore-
For Lord, I know you'll protect her,
The moment she reached Heaven's door!

If I Had Known It Would Be The Last Time

If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep.

I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you walk out the door.

I would give you a big hug and kiss and call you back for more.

If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,

I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.

For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight,

And we always get a second chance to make everything right.

There will always be another day to say our "I love you.

"And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,

I'd like to say how much I love you and hope you never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike.

And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight,

So if you're waiting for tomorrow why not do it today?

For if tomorrow never comes you'll surely regret the day

That you didn't take that extra time for a smile,a hug or a kiss

And you were to busy to grant someone, what turned out to be there last wish?

So hold your love one close today, and whisper in their ear,

That you love them very much and you'll always hold them dear.

Take time to say "I'm sorry." ,"Please forgive me." ,"Thank you, or "It's okay."

And if tomorrow never comes, You'll have no regrets about today.

Sadly Missed, But Never Forgotten

I do not need a special day to bring you to my mind.
The days I do not think of you are very hard to find.
Each morning when I awake I know that you are gone.
And no one knows the heartache as I try to carry on.
My heart still aches with sadness and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you no one will ever know.
My thoughts are always with you, your place no one can fill.
In life I loved you dearly; in death I love you still.

Dear child we miss you,

We love you so much you see.

To lose some one at such a young age

Multiplies the agony.

We’re doing our best to trust God

But to be honest questions abound.

Why did you have to leave so soon?

Why is it you’re not still around?

We praise God for so many good memories

And we feel his comforting touch.

We know God has never made a mistake

But dear child it still hurts so much.

We know you’re happy with Jesus

And that brings some cheer our way.

We look forward to being with you again

When we get to Heaven someday.

They Are Gone

You can shed tears that they are gone
Or you can smile because they have lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that they will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all they left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see them
Or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember them and only that they are gone
Or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.You can cry and close your mind,
Be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what they would want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
